London To Sydney – The Lead up

Wednesday 3rd May 2015 (David)

Arrived in England all ok after a very non eventful plane trip over. Today is the day I am reunited with my bike after the 3 months we have been apart while it was shipped over. Steve had kindly dropped my bike off at my relatives in Grundisburgh, Suffolk last week after he had arrive prior to me and collect our bikes from the docks.

Looking forward to jumping back on the bike for the ride back to Woodford Green tomorrow.

Friday 6th March 2015 (David & Steve)

A once in a life time trip.  One to tick off that bucket list.  Time to reflect on life and just soak it all up and ride the adventure of our lives, with my good friend Steve Stiles making this one mad ride!

Today was the start of things happening with the bikes being taken to the shipping company for transport (via sea) to Felixstowe, England.  The expected arrival date is around 14th May 2015.

We chose to use a well known Aussie bike shipping company “Get Routed” who to date have done a great job of getting us to this day.  We look forward to getting back on the bikes for the ride home in June.

The Trip will take us through many different countries and climates with the basic route being:- England, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and possibly Indonesia where we will then freight the bikes over to Darwin for the short stint home to Sydney.

Aiming to take 5 months for the trip as work will be expecting me back on 1st December 2015.

Both of us pleased after so much planning that things are starting to happen. A very emotional time as well as we shall be apart form our bikes for 3 months!
